Homemade Cherry Pie with Snowflake Crust
This is made with my favorite pie filling from Clearbrook Farms and Martha Stewart’s Pate Brisee.
Holiday Sugar Cookies
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Place butter and sugar in a large bowl or electric mixer and mix to thoroughly combine. Add egg milk and vanilla and beat to combine. Put mixer on low speed and gradually add in flour. Beat until the mixture pulls away from the side of the bowl. Divide the dough in half and wrap in parchment paper then refrigerate for two hours.
Preheat over to 375 degrees F.
Sprinkle surface with powdered sugar and roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place at least one inch apart baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until cookies just begin to brown around the edges. Move to a cooling rack. Serve as is or with icing.
